Daily Bible Reading

Date: 4/04/26

Theme/Focus: Becoming Unrecognizable

Scripture reference: Ephesians 4:17-25

Reflection

With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy.So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:17-25).

Life Application

“Becoming unrecognizable through Christ” isn’t about literally losing your identity. It’s spiritual rooted in a deep inner transformation. In Galatians 2:20, the apostle Paul writes: “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Our old self fades. This refers to letting go of old patterns-sin, ego, harmful habits, or ways of thinking that don’t align with Christ. The “old you” become less visible. Everything connected to our old way of life has to go. Christ character becomes visible in you. Overtime, your attitudes and actions start reflecting qualities associated with Jesus-love, humility, patience, forgiveness. People may say you’ve “changed so much” because your reactions and priorities are different.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we honor and adore you as our King! Thank you for creating us and giving your one and only son to die for our sins. You are the giver of life and we worship you. Thank you for your love and perfect peace which surpass all understanding. Without you, there is no life. You desire to have a relationship with us and is always there whenever we need you. We can call on you anytime and you will answer. We love and appreciate you! Always in Jesus Name Amen!
